Since these locations are not directly accessible by road, visitors must complete a trek after reaching Lower Darkut, with hiking times ranging from 1 to 5 hours, depending on the destination. The annual summer season transforms Darkut Valley into a paradise of green meadows, wildflowers, glaciers, and flowing streams. Its peaceful environment, traditional Wakhi culture, and stunning mountain scenery make it one of the best off-the-beaten-path destinations in Ghizer District. Accommodation Rest houses and basic guesthouses are available in Lower Darkut. There are no hotels near the trekking destinations. Visitors planning overnight hikes should prepare accordingly. Food & Restaurants No restaurants or food stalls are available near Khalter Lake, Ghamu Bar Glacier, or Rawat Meadow. Carry sufficient food, snacks, and drinking water before starting your trek. There is no petrol pump in Darkut Valley, so visitors should fill their fuel tank at the nearest available station before entering the valley. Camping Darkut Valley is one of the best camping destinations in Ghizer.
