Tourists and Local Travelers Finally Relieved as Jaglot–Skardu Road Reopens on 28 July

Thousands of tourists, local residents, and transporters can finally breathe a sigh of relief after the Jaglot–Skardu Road (JSR) officially reopened on 28 July.

The reopening comes after the successful restoration of the temporary bridge at Sassi Haramosh, where flood damage had disrupted traffic and stranded many travelers heading to and from Skardu.

Days of Uncertainty Come to an End

For several days, the closure of the Jaglot–Skardu Road affected tourism, daily commuting, and the transportation of essential goods. Many travelers were forced to delay their journeys, while others remained stranded as authorities worked to restore the damaged crossing.

With the bridge now rebuilt and declared safe, traffic has resumed, bringing much-needed relief to everyone waiting for the route to reopen.

Safe Travel Restored

The Gilgit-Baltistan Police have deployed officers at the restored bridge to manage traffic and ensure vehicles cross safely.

Travelers are advised to cooperate with traffic officials and remain updated on road conditions, especially during the ongoing monsoon season.
